ENQUIRY LAUNCHED INTO YEAR 8 CAMP
"We came back with the least kids yet" - Mrs. Shaw
Friday 9 March 2001
Bundy High has yet again shown little value for the value of it's students by returning from the
recent Year 8 camp with only 143 pupils, 12 short of the number that it left with. The camp,
held at Elliot Heads, was hailed a success by all involved until the school started receiving
phone calls about the whereabouts of their children. Several searches of the area by school staff
and police failed to locate the children, but Principal Dave Wilkinson speculated "they are
probably living in the nearby vegetation."
Year 8 co-coordinator Di Shaw is under pressure from the parents to be fired after this incident
and may be charged by police. The charges may be extended to manslaughter if a child is found dead.
Mrs. Shaw is still adamant that she can not be held responsible due to the fact that the parents all
signed permission slips before they went.
The search for the children will continue for the next 2 days, after which, the corpse recovery
police will be called in to take over.
