"DETHMETAL" BAND DISRUPTS AMNESTY
FUNDRAISER
Bleeding hearts outraged
Wednesday 23 May 2001
A band described as 'satan deth metal' gatecrashed the peaceful Amnesty International Sizzle of
Sausages Fundraiser this week. After organizers were expecting some 'easy listening'
entertainment, when the band, named The Bringers of Deth Doom and Destruction to the New
Millennium of Hatred turned up in a black van. Before starting the concert, the band forced
organizers to supply a sheep for sacrifice, to "bless the stage for the coming of the demons" as one
band member put it. After the sacrifice, the sheep was placed on the barbeque and 'sizzled' with the
other sausages.
After The Bringers of Deth Doom and Destruction to the New Millennium of Hatred started their
first song, aptly named A skullfull of maggots in suits are rotting my brain with corporate
thinking, Amnesty officials were thinking something was wrong. After the second song - The
demons are coming to destroy us all - they were certain. "I'm sure we booked Ringo Starr"
commented on official.
However, all was not lost. After talking to the band, diplomats convinced them to play the school song.
After being renamed "Per Ardua Ad Astra - Reach for the Demons" the band pumped out an energy
packed rendition of the ballad.
After the concert, the band was refreshed by eating sizzled sausages and reading anti racism posters.
