HYPOCRISY AT AMNESTY CONCERT
Controversial songs sung at fund-raiser
Wednesday 23 May 2001
Yesterday lunchtime Amnesty International held a sausage sizzle on the basketball courts to try and
raise money for their cause. Accompanying the event was some of Bundy high's musically talented
students singing songs to try and create some interest and hopefully donations. Seems decent
enough doesn't it? No! The Unofficial Bundy High Newsletter finds it hard to believe that an
organisation such as Amnesty International would allow the performance of a song by rapper
Eminem - a controversial celebrity who's explicit lyrics contain sexist, racist and homophobic
undertones - exactly what the organisation is against! The juxtaposition of the students singing songs
right beside anti-descrimination posters is quite possibly the greatest case of irony ever seen in
Bundy High. After examining this blatent oversight, The Unofficial Bundy High Newsletter has
come to the conclusion that this "charity" event is simply a fundraising venture for the Wilkinson
Administration to try and recapture the wealth that was lost during the Mr. French gambling fiasco. Join us in a boycott of all
Amnesty International events in the future until the truth is admitted!
