ALL-IN BRAWL PUTS BUNDY HIGH ON THE
MAP
Players welcomed home with ticker-tape parade
Monday 23 July 2001
The members of Bundaberg High's Open Rugby League side were welcomed home today, after
participating in one of the greatest fights ever to be seen in the game of Rugby League. The fight made
it to both local and state-wide news services, forever imbedding the name of Bundy High into the
minds of all Queensland citizens.
Administration is said to be pleased with the amount of publicity Bundaberg State High School has
gotten through this fight. We talked to Mr Wilkinson about it. "Hell, it was a great fight. I'm very pleased
with the boys' performances. They all fought very well. It shows that Bundy High students stand up for
themselves and stick up for their buddies. A great effort all round." said Mr Wilkinson.
Mrs Wallwork even got in on the act. Surprisingly, she forfeited the usual and expected speech of
"That was an appalling display of time and place. Citizens driving past the school are now going to
think that ALL students are incompetent and overly aggressive", instead giving the boys a pat on the
back and congratulating them.
Acclaim was not only from within the school body, however. Cr Kay McDuff, Mayor of Bundaberg,
congratulated Mr Wilkinson and the team for getting Bundaberg's name mentioned on the State news.
"It's not often that we get mention of this caliber. Therefore I present Bundy High with the coveted 'I
got Bundaberg on the news, and I'm proud of it' award." announced the mayor, to a crowd of
uninterested bystanders. Below is a picture of the mayor presenting Mr Wilkinson with the award. Mr
Wilkinson and the rest of the team will also receive cheap novelty T-Shirts.

Attendance at Bundy High football is attended to soar us blood-thirsty citizens crave for another fight.
"We haven't seen many good fights for a few years before they made fighting a punishable offence in
the State of Origin. Now that the first grade players are a bunch of pansy's, its up to the school boys to
give us some good fighting action. Its this kind of thing that rugby league is all about." said Jeff
Davidson, a local member of the Fans for Violence in Football organization.
As soon as another game that might end up in a brawl is announced, you'll see it here first.
